The goal of the BIG5 project is to raise donations through NFTs and deliver donations to related organizations such as the Wildlife Conservation Society to help protect endangered wildlife such as rhinos, lions, elephants, tigers, and gorillas. To realize this, we intend to build a BIG5 platform based on blockchain that secures transparency and reliability of transactions.
The BIG5 platform is a donation platform built on top of the Ethereum blockchain. The BIG5 platform aims to raise donations by issuing and selling endangered wildlife BIG5 NFTs, which are selected annually based on data from the World Wildlife Fund, and to play a role as a conduit that fully donates to wildlife conservation-related organizations. The donations will be made in a fair and transparent manner to protect endangered wildlife, including habitat protection and restoration and population conservation.
Blockchain-based donation platforms have great strengths in that they increase the efficiency of donation collection projects and transparently share their use with donors. It allows to increase the donation participation rate by transparently knowing where the donation is being spent, and it is an effective tool to create and activate a healthy donation culture by securing convenience and scalability such as linking shopping and donation.
Above all, the use of blockchain in donation activities can speed up cross-border fund transfers and reduce transfer fees. In particular, in wartime situations where the financial system is unstable, or in the event of natural disasters, disaster assistance can be provided quickly, which can promote relief efforts.
The BIG5 platform issues the platform's key currency, Big Five Token (BIG5), based on the standard token specification ERC-20 token standard set by the Ethereum blockchain network, and BIG5 NFTs are minted using the ERC-721 standard. In order to donate through the platform, you need to purchase BIG5 NFT, and at this time, you can use BIG5 tokens to make payments, thereby creating and activating the token economy within the platform. BIG5 tokens are also used as governance tokens that can participate in DAOs.
Those who donate experience a helper's high, a feeling of joy and satisfaction just by being able to help someone. However, if donors are given small rewards and the culture of donation is more active and popular, and if interest and participation in donation activities can be increased, a virtuous cycle of sharing that will be amplified will be achieved.
The BIG5 project team plans to increase user convenience and accessibility by developing various contents and services, such as developing an online game based on the protection of endangered wildlife, building a character goods shopping mall, and providing an NFT marketplace and wallet service developed by itself, after the initial stage of the service that raises donations by issuing and selling NFTs through the BIG5 platform.
